Green Tourism
Prior to becoming a B & B we made every effort to ensure Potters Cottage was run with a view to reducing its impact on the environment. Here are some of the things we do:
- We live by the principle of Reduce, Re-use, Recycle.
- We do not use a dishwasher and line dry laundry.
- We provide a small capacity kettle for the guest bedroom to reduce the amount of electricity used to boil a kettle.
- All radiators have thermostatic valves, they can be turned up or down to suit individual guests.
- We ask if guests will turn the radiator control down rather than open windows.
- We have a towel change policy and thank guests who help us to save water and electricity.
- We encourage car free activities so provide maps, books of local walks, timetables and information. Canoe tours and informal sailing instruction can be arranged, at extra cost, with Chris who is a canoe and sailing instructor with many years experience
